Our Organization’s Name

We were founded in 2011 as Russian-speaking Community Council of Manhattan and the Bronx, initially to serve a distinctive group within our citywide – the very disadvantaged and underserved residents of Washington Heights and parts of the Bronx, such as Co-Op City, where we held some of our very first events. By now, we have expanded to include community leaders and activists from across the city, all the way to South Brooklyn, and  beyond, with people coming to our events all the way from upstate New York. In 2018, we officially changed our name to Russian-speaking Community Council, Inc.
